Poster Title: fDOMinate your field: A Novel Solution for the Simultaneous Verification of Field-Deployable Fluorescent Dissolved Organic Matter and Algal Fluorescence Sensor Calibrations


Optical fluorescence sensors for fDOM and algal pigments are widely used by USGS in water‑quality monitoring but require frequent calibration checks that are time‑consuming when multiple sensors are deployed. To streamline field and laboratory verification, the California WSC Organic Matter Research Laboratory developed a multiparameter fluorescence solution (MPFS) designed to simultaneously check calibrations for fDOM, chlorophyll (fChl), and phycocyanin (fPC) sensors. Results presented here demonstrate that the use of MPFS saves time, reduces hazards, and improves consistency in water-quality measurements.
